Software Developer
Hi, I’m Richard.
I build fast, maintainable web applications with modern ReactJS, TypeScript, cloud-native tools and C#. I like making complex problems feel simple and shipping things that actually solve problems.

About
I'm a software developer with a focus on building robust, maintainable applications. I care about clean APIs, sensible architectures, and making sure what we ship is easy to work on six months later.
Over the past few years I've worked across the stack: front-end (React, TypeScript, Tailwind), back-end (Node.js, .NET, REST APIs), and infrastructure (Docker, CI/CD, cloud hosting). I like owning problems from idea to deployment.
Outside of work I like exploring new technologies and relaxing with a good game.
What I'm good at
- Turning vague requirements into something concrete and shippable.
- Designing APIs and data models that don't fight you later.
- Debugging weird edge-cases and production issues without drama.

Charities & Non-profits
If you're a charity, community group or non-profit, I'm happy to talk about your project and see how I can help without the usual agency nonsense.
I know budgets are tight and time is limited. The goal is simple: build something that actually works for you, doesn't lock you in, and is realistic to maintain with the resources you have.
- Website refreshes, small microsites or simple landing pages.
- Basic donation flows, volunteer sign-up forms and contact funnels.
- Honest advice on what's worth building and what isn't.
No hard sell. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you straight and point you in a better direction if I can.
What the process looks like
- Quick call or email. You tell me what you're trying to do, what you have already, and what budget (if any) you're working with.
- Simple options. I'll outline 1–2 realistic options in plain English – including rough costs and timelines.
- You decide. If it sounds useful, we move ahead. If not, you at least walk away with a clearer picture and no invoice.
I'm especially keen to hear from groups working in community support, youth work, mental health, grassroots sport or local initiatives.
